Over a decade in development, the Sustainable Communities Framework is an economic development regimen designed by National Commonwealth Group to help restore the economic vitality and cultural resilience of Puerto Rico. Similar to how the Green New Deal aspires to fuel equitable economic opportunity through government programs with congressional funding, the SCF differs by empowering Puertorriqueños, or any community, to commence their own restoration and growth by self-funding redevelopment using a complementary currency tradable only on the island.
